Bit larger than green, curly kale. Bright reddish- purple in color with a slightly sweeter flavor and more tender texture.

Description: This delicious grey-green kale is general a bit larger than regular kale. Stems are purplish and the leaves are shaped like green curly kale and colored a velvety gray purple. The purple colors become richer after frost, when the flavor becomes sweeter. Surprisingly, the big leaves are very tender and delicious.

Recipe: Since this kale has a bit of a sweeter flavor then other varieties it is perfect in this Sauteed Kale with Smoked Paprika dish. It's also great in salads since it's so tender!

Storage: Fresh kale will last 6-7 days. Do not wash until ready to eat as excess moisture hastens the decay. Can be kept for 12 months if blanched and frozen

Located in Glenn Mills, PA this collective is made up of Amish family farmers. They grow a range of fruits and vegetables between the 10 farmers. Innovative and forward looking, these farmers extend their growing season with high tunnels, and combine old and new techniques to responsibly and productively farm their land.
