Lettuce: Baby Romaine (loose)
$3.79
Baby Romaine lettuce is crisp and tender with a mild, fresh taste. These loose leaves are broad and smooth with many folds and creases, and the rib is crunchy, juicy, and succulent. Baby Romaine’s tender leaves brighten up any salad, but this green especially shines when paired with a creamy dressing. Click on this item to see the full description.
Description: This versatile lettuce is known for an irresistible crunch and relatively mild flavor. Baby Romaine is picked at a younger stage of growing for smaller, tighter heads. This also results in a lighter color lettuce. The leaves are more tender but have a great mild, flavor. Baby Romaine lettuce is an excellent source of dietary fiber, vitamins A, C, and K, thiamin, folate, iron, potassium, and manganese. It is also a good source of riboflavin, vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and copper.
Baby Romaine lettuce pairs well with avocados, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, tarragon, parsley, mint, chile peppers, garlic, onions, shallots, olives, feta cheese, parmesan cheese, black beans, poultry, steak, fish, shrimp, tofu, eggs, lemon, quinoa, sour cream, balsamic vinegar, and red wine vinegar.
Storage: Keep in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. We suggest keeping in a plastic bag or produce bag, keeping the lettuce away from moisture. Moisture on the leaves will hasten decay.
