All of our food is grown using organic methods. It is entirely free of hormones, antibiotics, GMOs and almost entirely without pesticides. Some of our producers are certified organic, but some are not. We’ve made a commitment first and foremost to farmers in the Mid-Atlantic. We decided to choose producers based on our own calibration of standards. The official organic certification is too costly for many of our producers, even though they abide by the same practices.

Our approach involves talking with every farmer and discussing their growing practices. We ask questions that are key components to other certifications such as G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) and Naturally Certified Organic (USDA Organic Certification alternative).

All of the fruit we sell is grown using IPM (Integrated Pest Management). It is a farming process in which farmers use as little spray as possible and do what they can to cultivate a strong presence of “good” bugs.
All of our meat and dairy is pasture raised with no hormones or antibiotics. All of the grazing animals are 100% grass fed.

We cannot officially call our farmers organic, but we do trust that the farmers we work with raise crops that are healthy for them, their farm and anyone who consumes the food they raise.

Log into your account and click on the MARKET button on the menu bar at the top of the page. You can browse through the different sections of the store using the icons at the top of the market. For the items you want, just click “Add to Delivery.”

You can see the full contents of your order by clicking into your cart, which is a green icon with a number inside, located at the top righthand side of the screen.

The number in your cart corresponds to how many subscriptions you have, in addition to how many items you have added to your upcoming order and future orders that are set up, but not yet final.

Clicking on the cart icon will open up your current order. Your current order should appear under "This Week's Delivery." Your recurring subscriptions can be viewed by expanding the bottom part of your cart by clicking on "Recurring Subscriptions & Future Orders."

You can click out of your cart and into the market to add items. You can remove items from your cart by clicking on the "x" next to the product. 

When you have added all of the items you would like scroll to the bottom of the contents in your cart and hit CONFIRM & SAVE ORDER. You will be taken to a confirmation page so you know we received your order. You can also view the upcoming order by clicking in to your account to view "Upcoming Deliveries," or view your invoice under "Delivery History." 

Please see below for your designated market hours (based on the day of your delivery).

Market Hours:
For Tuesday delivery, the store is open Thursday at 7 pm to Sunday at 8 pm.
For Wednesday delivery, the store is open Thursday at 7 pm to Monday at 8 pm.
For Thursday delivery, the hours you can order from the store are Friday at 9 am to Tuesday at 8 pm.
All of your preset subscriptions will be listed in your cart when the market opens. You can click on the green cart icon in the top right corner of the screen when you are logged in to your account.

All items in your current order are listed at the top and a full list of your recurring subscriptions are listed in the bottom part under "Recurring Items for Future Orders," you can update those as well. 

You'll need to click on the link to "Customize Box" to view the contents for the week. This is where you can remove items you do not want from your share. You can also increase quantities of any items in your share that you would like more of! For any ADDITIONAL ITEMS you may want to add, just go to the Market link on the menu bar to shop around and click "Add to Delivery" for any items you want. Once you add enough items to meet our minimum the order is automatically saved and will be delivered on your next available delivery day. 

PLEASE NOTE YOUR TOTAL FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS WILL BE INDICATED IN THE ORDER TOTAL! It will appear as $0 at the top of your cart, but the total at the bottom will show the actual cost of the items in your share.

PLEASE NOTE - You are responsible for updating your order before the cutoff time. If you elect a recurring subscription on a regular schedule, we will always assume you want to receive those items as is and prepare your share on your designated schedule. You may skip deliveries, hold your share or customize as you like before the cutoff time, any changes required after that time are not guaranteed.

We pick the weekly box content for our Farmer’s Share and Chef’s Share subscriptions, but you can add or delete items as you’d like. You have control over what ends up in your box!

Please note that recurring subscriptions will ALWAYS be sent on the schedule you select, even if you do not log in to your account to customize. You are responsible for logging in to your account to make any changes you would like before the cutoff time. Changes after that time cannot be guaranteed. 
Return them to us, please!

It’s most appreciated whenever we can reuse our share boxes, cold packaging, or even our egg cartons! If you could break down your share box and neatly pack up those materials, you can drop them off at your pickup location at any time. We pick up boxes and other materials upon each new delivery and also make a few rounds during the week to our pick up locations.
Log in to your account and select the "Delivery Hold" option from the drop down menu or side bar menu. 

Select your start and end date for the time you need the vacation hold and click “Add Vacation.”

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR HOLD END DATE IS THE DATE OF YOUR RETURN! For instance, if you want to place your share on hold until March 1, 2017, you should place a hold until March 2, 2017. Then, your next delivery will be on or after March 2, 2017. 

After you add the dates of your hold, make sure you see them appear below to confirm everything saved correctly. If you want to update the vacation you can cancel and start over.

To skip deliveries, you can do so in the 'Upcoming Orders' section of your account. 

You can view your account balance under the 'Delivery History' tab when you are logged in to your account. The balance will be listed at the top of the screen next to “Current Balance As of This Week.”

Please note that any balance owed to us will be a positive amount. Any credits on your account appear as a negative value as they are credits owed to you. 

When you log in to your account you can make changes under the "Recurring Subscriptions" section along the left hand side of the screen (or in the drop down menu). 

You can add or cancel your recurring items any time during your online market hours. To cancel, hit the "cancel order" button next to the subscription.

To browse subscription options you may want to add, use the "Subscriptions" section of our market. You can select your schedule from the drop down menu under each subscription. 

You can update your delivery location by logging in to your account through the Philly Foodworks page. The delivery location can be updated under the “Personal Info” option. 

PLEASE NOTE! There are specific time restrictions depending on the delivery day you are moving to or from! If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to and we can assist with making a change for you. 

If you are keeping your same delivery day, but just switching the location you can do so during your usual online market hours. 

If you are changing delivery days, then you must make the change after your current delivery day, and before the close of the market hours for the delivery day you will be changing to. 

As a reminder, the close of market for each delivery day is below:

For TUESDAY - before SUNDAY at 8PM
For WEDNESDAY - before MONDAY at 8PM
For THURSDAY - before TUESDAY at 8PM

Don’t forget about home delivery! It’s an extra $5 a week, but we offer it in Center City, Northern Liberties, West-Philly, Fairmount, Brewerytown, Fishtown, and South Philadelphia. We also waive the delivery fee for orders over $75!

To update any of your personal information, log into your account using the “My Account” link at the top of the Philly Foodworks site. To update the name, email address or password on your account select “Personal Info.” Once everything is edited, click on the green “Update” button to save your changes. 

To update your Payment information click on the "Payment/Delivery Info" section to adjust billing address and payment details. 
Your recurring shares will continue to be delivered as long as you would like them to be! With our automatic payments you can always expect to receive your share. You can view all of your upcoming deliveries on your account by selecting the "Upcoming Deliveries" section from the menu. 

As additional reminders, you will receive an email two days in advance of your delivery, as well as reminder email when your share arrives at its destination. You might actually get sick of hearing about your upcoming shares! But, if you are ever unsure, reach out to us at We will let you know!

If you’d like to receive a reminder any time besides 2 days before your delivery, you can use the “Preferences” tab on your account to change when you receive your reminders!

Mistakes definitely do happen so if you’re missing an item, or have any problems please email us at and we’ll make it right.

If you are unhappy with the quality of an item received please send us an email or give us a call (215) 221-6245 and we’ll credit you and discuss the issue with the producer or see how we can improve on it!

If you forget your share at your location, please check your inbox for an alert about your share pick up. You can review the details of your pick up location and their overnight policy in the email alert letting you know your share had been dropped off.

Some locations hold boxes overnight, some locations do not – also, some have refrigeration and others do not. The details of your location can serve as a guide for the different policies determined by each pick up point. You can reach out directly to your pick up site or to Philly Foodworks to check on the status of your share. We will do everything we can to help you out, but we cannot make any guarantees especially if it is outside of the designated pick up hours.

If for some reason you need to cancel your recurring deliveries, log into your account, click on Recurring Items button and cancel your recurring subscriptions. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR UPCOMING DELIVERIES TO CONFIRM ALL FUTURE ORDERS ARE CANCELLED! 

It's possible that orders in progress will not be removed from future deliveries. If you want to cancel a subscription you MUST be sure that you have also cancelled future orders, otherwise, we will assume you would like to receive your scheduled upcoming deliveries. 

If you would like to remove all of your information from our system and cancel your membership entirely please complete THIS FORM in it's entirety. 

To update your payment details, you can use the Payment Info section of your account. If you’d like to change your payment plan, please email Philly Foodworks at for assistance.
