Apples: Smokehouse
$2.75
An old Pennsylvania apple variety known for its fine flavor, which is reminiscent of cider.
Description: An old Pennsylvania apple that is known for its fine flavor and ability to produce a good crop on poor soils and in the worst exposures. So named because it grew as a seedling by the smokehouse of a Lancaster County farmer. Red stripes over yellow. Very juicy, faint yellow flesh, chewy. Ripens September and keeps well into the winter.
