Eggs: Duck

$10.99

1 dozen

Duck eggs are super high in protein and are great for baking because they have a rich, smooth orange yolk. Duck eggs can sometimes have a flavor or aroma best described as wild, or gamy. Because of its larger yolk, scrambled duck eggs will have a richer, creamier flavor than ordinary scrambled eggs. These duck eggs are soy-free and come from pasture raised, gmo-free and antibiotic-free ducks raised at Gobbler's Ridge Farm. Click on this item to see the full description.

Description: These soy-free Duck eggs are bigger than chicken eggs. That means they have more of everything in them: more fat, more cholesterol, more protein, and more calories. They are also higher in Omega 3s and have an extremely long shelf life (6 weeks if you keep them refrigerated).

Duck eggshells come in a much more varied array of colors. Imagine white, various shades of grey, light green, brown, speckled, to a nearly black egg, depending on the breed of the duck. But just like chicken eggs, the color of the shell has no relation to the flavor or other properties of the egg.

Gobblers Ridge Farm

Located in New Providence, and run by run by Katie and Henry Esch, Gobblers Ridge lambs are grassfed and grass finished. These animals have constant access to pasture and are never fed grain. In the winter months and dry seasons they feed on foraged grasses in the form of dried hay, baleage and silage. The farmers oversee the breeding and feeding of their animals from birth to slaughter.
