Lettuce: Baby Romaine (heads)

$4.50

2 ct

This versatile lettuce is known for an irresistible crunch and relatively mild flavor. These heads are picked young for a more tender texture.

Description: Baby Romaine is picked at a younger stage of growing for smaller, tighter heads. This also results in a lighter color lettuce. These heads are still packed with the Romaine crunch that you're used to but in a smaller size. The leaves are more tender but have a great mild, flavor. The size of these baby heads are ideal for grilling!

Recipe: Since the size of baby romaine lends perfectly to grilling we love making Grilled Cesar Salad with them!

Storage: Keep in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. We suggest keeping in a plastic bag or produce bag, keeping the lettuce away from moisture. Moisture on the leaves will hasten decay.

Honey Brook Harvest Collective

Located in Honey Brook, PA the Harvest Collective is a group of farmers that all grow and contribute to our food system we're working hard to develop. Initially, we first met Reuben Riehl in the fall of 2012 and began talking about this crazy idea of him supplying the CSA. Now, two and a half years later, Reuben and eight of his neighbors are growing crops, making cheese, and raising chickens, beef, pork, duck, and lamb for the CSA. The group is only open to growers that care greatly for their land and take pride in their natural growing methods. While they are not certified organic, they do everything in their power to raise their crops and animals in the healthiest way possible.
