Lemons: Meyer
$15.79
2 lbs
These lemons are much sweeter and don't have the same tang as regular lemons.
Description: Meyer lemons were first introduced to the United States from China in the early 20th century by Frank Meyer, hence their name! This sweet winter citrus is said to be a cross between a regular lemon and a mandarin orange. This cross is what gives Meyer lemons their difference in flavor and appearance from standard lemons. Meyer lemons are more round, with smoother, deep yellow to orange skin, and a dark yellow pulp. These lemons are much sweeter and don't have the same tang as regular lemons.
Uses: Meyer lemons can be used in a variety of preparations such as pasta, desserts, salads, and more. One of our favorite recipes to use Meyer Lemons in is this Spaghetti with Mascarpone, Meyer Lemon, Spinach, and Hazelnuts.
Storage: If you will use your lemons quickly, keeping them on the counter is perfectly fine. However, if you aren't using your lemons quickly they'll stay fresh longer if you put them in the fridge in a sealed plastic bag.
