Tomato Achaar is a condiment made with locally-grown tomatoes, tamarind, a mix of Indian spices, red chili powder, unrefined cane sugar and sesame oil. It has a savory, spicy and tangy flavor. Click on this item to see the full description.

Description: A condiment made with locally-grown tomatoes, tamarind, a mix of Indian spices, red chili powder, unrefined cane sugar and sesame oil. It has a savory, spicy and tangy flavor. Use it just like you would Sriracha or harissa. Traditionally it's eaten with rice, curry, dal and yogurt, but you can top it on most anything - eggs, sandwiches, grilled meats, noodles or even cook with it by adding it to lentils, soups, salad dressings. Mix it into mayo for dipping fries in or into guacamole to go with chips.

Ingredients: water, tomato paste, concentrated crushed tomatoes, distilled vinegar, light brown sugar, sunflower oil, fresh garlic, salt, chili powder, tamarind, spices (fenugreek powder, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, asafetida).

Storage: Refrigerate once opened.

Brooklyn Delhi

Brooklyn Delhi makes delicious condiments and sauces inspired by Indian culinary traditions. Their first line of products that they launched in 2014 focuses on an Indian pantry staple called achaar, sometimes referred to as Indian pickle. Brooklyn Delhi recipes were developed by chef and cookbook author Chitra Agrawal. Since 2009 in Brooklyn, Chitra has specialized in serving, teaching and writing about Indian home cooking. She has been featured in The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Saveur, among others. Chitra travels to India each year to visit family and gain inspiration for her recipes. In Summer of 2018, they launched their second line of condiments a Curry Ketchup and Curry Mustard, in August of 2019, they launched their line of Simmer Sauces and in 2020 they launched our Guntur Sannam Hot Sauce and Mango Chutney. Handcrafted in small batches in New York & we like it best...on everything!
