Description: Cod is a true New England Classic and one of the pivotal seafoods that built the New England Fishing Industry. It is a white flaky fish, has large semi-firm flakes, and a mild flavor profile. The fillets are slightly thicker and meatier than haddock but not quite as dense as halibut. Cod is also low in saturated fat and sodium and is a good source of protein and selenium. Regulatory bodies throughout the Northeast have taken action to rebuild the Cod Fisheries resulting in it being a sustainable seafood option to enjoy

Packaging & Usage: High tech flash frozen and vacuum sealed in 1 lb. portions at peak freshness from the ocean. Each packaged item provides the transparent catch data to harvest your local catch; the species, fisherman, vessel, port of origin, and gear used.

Storage: Keep frozen and thaw in the refrigerator before cooking. Product has four day refrigerated shelf life.

He worked alongside hardworking fishermen and saw that with the advent of industrial technology and the governmental regulation of open oceans, traditional fishing communities and family fishing businesses began to struggle for survival. He also saw the abundance of species available to us in New England’s pristine cold waters. He set out to create a way for consumers to have direct access to the freshest seafood.
