Dirty Chai Concentrate

Out of stock

Description: Dona teamed up with Variety Coffee Roasters in Brooklyn for a limited batch DONA Dirty Chai. Single-origin masala chai concentrate blended with Variety's signature cold brew coffee beans from Guji, Ethiopia. It's DONA, but dirtier with a ⚡️ of caffeine

Chai is the word for tea in many parts of the world. It is a centuries-old beverage which has played an important role in many cultures. The most common version we know is from India. Chai from India is a spiced milk tea that is generally made up of rich black tea, heavy milk, a combination of various spices and a sweetener. The spices used vary but most common are cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and pepper. This produces a warming, soothing effect, acts as a natural digestive aid and gives one a wonderful sense of well being. It's difficult to resist a second cup.

Beverages, much like the foods we pair them with, are meant to be enjoyed. Dona doesn't have any diet plans, magic elixirs or rigid bans, just carefully crafted products that are bright, refreshing and tastefully sweet. Their beverages have complex flavors because they’re made with high quality ingredients—real spices, herbs and citrus—selected for their naturally sweet qualities, so we add less sugar.

Their team is small, so they brew in small batches to ensure the highest level of quality and control. First, each spice is cupped to test for flavor profile, natural sweetness and body. Their brewing process begins with whole spices that are ground fresh per batch, unlike conventional spices that are pre-ground long before they arrive on the grocery store shelf, leaving them lacking in natural oils and flavor. They slow-steep their ingredients at their brewery in Brooklyn. Slow-steeping is a process that uses gentle circulation, temperature control and triple filtration. This develops flavor while optimizing extraction, ensuring the same beautiful flavors every time. They pay attention to how spices taste, where they come from, how they’re grown, and who farms them.

Recipes: HOW-TO DIRTY CHAI LATTE: Mix equal parts DONA concentrate and milk. Heat, steam or pour over ice. We love using it for all of these things and Dona Chai has great recipes on their site!

Ingredients: Purified water, cold brew coffee concentrate, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, green cardamom, organic black tea, molasses, black pepper, cloves, citric acid.

Storage: Shelf stable until opened. Refrigerate after opening.

Vegan & Gluten-free.

Dona makes tea concentrates with the best single-origin & direct trade ingredients. Sourcing matters. They use real spices sourced from farms around the world for their natural sweetness, variety and quality. The better the spice, the bigger the flavor so we can use less sugar. They value sustainability. After their brewing process, all of their ingredients are composted locally.
