This basil arrives to you alive and can be kept in the water sleeve or transplanted into a soil pot for further growth. It tastes just the same as cut basil!
Basil has been used for thousands of years and is found in traditional dishes like Italian Pesto. The taste is sweet but savory, and just like the smell, it is peppery yet ever so slightly minty. This basil is greenhouse grown right in Chester County, PA!
Recipe: Try this pesto recipe straight from the Basil farmers themselves! Fresh Basil Pesto
Caring for your Basil: - DO NOT REFRIGERATE.
-Remove from the sleeve and place in a glass, cup or small vase and add water. The water level should not exceed past the halfway point of the soil cube, about an inch of water.
-Keep basil in an area exposed to sunlight
-Clip leaves at the stem when using for a recipe
- Remove any dry or discolored leaves as they appear
Storage: The best method to increase basil longevity is to rinse and replace the water daily.
