Kale: Tuscan

Lacinato (Tuscan or dinosaur kale) has deep roots in Italian cuisine, and has a slightly sweeter and more tender texture than Curly Kale.

Description: Tuscan kale is a variety of kale with a long tradition in Italian cuisine, especially that of Tuscany. Lacinato Kale, a cousin variety of the traditional green kale is also known as Lacinato Kale, Black Kale or Dinosaur Kale. This sweeter, milder, blue-green, heavily crinkled slender leaves impart excellent flavor in whatever dish you decide to use it in. 

Recipe: Lacinato Kale is delicious sautéed but one of our favorite uses is Kale & White Bean Spaghetti Squash Lasagna! It's all made right in the spaghetti squash.

Storage: Fresh kale will last 6-7 days. Do not wash until ready to eat as excess moisture hastens the decay.

Sunny Harvest Farms

Located in Glenn Mills, PA this collective is made up of Amish family farmers. They grow a range of fruits and vegetables between the 10 farmers. Innovative and forward looking, these farmers extend their growing season with high tunnels, and combine old and new techniques to responsibly and productively farm their land.
