Our freekeh is made from roasted green spelt, a wholesome grain cherished for centuries in the Middle East and Northeastern Africa. Greg Johnsman has had milling on his mind since childhood. Taught by 3rd generation miller Jack Brock, Greg developed a deep respect for the craft early on. After studying poultry science at Clemson and working in agriculture, he rediscovered his love for milling when he found a 1945 mill in Saluda, SC. With that, the seed for Marsh Hen Mill was planted.
